Thanks LVCarol, the onions are a big part of the flavor of this dish but they don't contribute much texture (which comes from the mushrooms and meat), so you could skip them. If he is open to other members of the allium family, you could could also substitute a bit of garlic. I hope that helps!

Yummy stroganoff.. Try a lot of your recipes, so far have loved them all.. but big problem because my spouse will not eat onions under ANY circumstance..I love them but want to know if there’s “ANYTHING” to substitute or add that you would recommend just to give more texture??
